How do I connect to and search the journal finder?

Answer

1. Connect to the Journal Finder

Links to the Journal Finder can be found in OneSearch and on the Library website.

In OneSearch, look for the link in the main menu:Link to Journal Finder link

And on our website, look for it in the Search & Find area:Journal finder link

2. Search for a Publication

Once you are connected, enter a title of a magazine, newspaper, or journal to check its availability in our collections. You can also search by subject or ISSN. This example shows a search for "Journal of Child and Family Studies"

3. Explore Results

The results screen will display any matching titles. The "Full Text Access" section of a title will show (a) which databases contain the journal and (b) the dates of availability. Click one of the databases in this area to access more details. Journal Finder results

4. Browsing Issues & Viewing Full Text

This step shows the results of clicking the "Academic Search Ultimate" database from the previous step. On the publication details page, look at the Full Text section to see the dates for which full text is available. Lastly, on the right side of the Publication Details screen, expand the years (2023, 2022, etc.) to see individual issues that can be clicked to access articles from that issue.Journal finder full text
