What is a permalink?
Answer
In Library databases, a permalink is a static, non-changing web address that points directly to a book, article, video, or other type of source. Sharing a permalink with others is great way to provide direct access to an item found within a Library database. For example, faculty can create assigned readings based on articles within Library databases and post permalinks within Blackboard that will allow students to connect directly to those articles.
At CCAC, permalinks work for any CCAC user regardless of whether they are on or off-campus. Off-campus users will be prompted to log into MyCCAC before they will be redirected to the item in the database.
If you have questions about permalinks, get in touch with the Library.
